It’s probably safe to assume that most of us would call ourselves supporters of gender equality, but would we call ourselves feminists? What is it about the term “feminism” that can cause some to cheer, others to squirm, and leave others unsure of what to do? What does feminism mean, anyway? These questions go to the heart of our communities and personal lives. They cross gender lines, occupations academic disciplines, and political perspectives. So let’s talk about feminism!
On Thursday, November 18th, Laurier Brantford will host the inaugural F-Word Symposium. This event, which includes a fair, panel, and post-panel reception, aims to open up conversations about the meaning and relevance of feminism in Canada and around the world. Please join us for all or part of the day. Bring your friends and family, your classes, your political allies and adversaries. All are welcome!
